That special bond your baby has with you...
There is an ever-growing body of research that tells us this is the really important part about parenting. As explained by attachment theory, this relationship that we cultivate with our children during their first years of life plays a key role in how they develop socially and emotionally, even how they experience their own relationships as adults. Attachment has to do with how our babies feel connected and secure. But not every form of attachment is the same. We all want our children to grow up into well-adjusted adults and the way to do that is by ensuring secure attachment from an early age. Let’s dive into more of what secure attachment is and how we can foster it for the healthy development of our little ones! ![]() This is a story about a time when sleep took a nosedive in our house and it was not because of a typical sleep issue. Bedtime wasn’t off, naps weren’t an issue, no monsters under the bed but somehow my then 5 year old started waking through the night. Sure, that happens sometimes, but this wasn’t getting better. In fact, it was getting much, much worse… Stella, my 8 year old, is a really smart kid. She loves to read, loves school, and gives everything her all. She’s got a lot of hustle and I can see her playing on teams down the road. She’s a leader, and goes after what she wants - just like her mommy ;) |
